The new chapel
With the growing number of holidaymakers, chalet owners and tourists, the Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption chapel opened in 1948.
On August 6, 1950, the inauguration took place with great pomp and lasted from 9:30 a.m. until late in the evening: blessing of the chapel and the bell, solemn high mass, sermon by Bishop Lebon, grand fanfare concert, country supper at popular prices (50 cents), blessing of the Blessed Sacrament and, finally, a program of animated views presented by Father Maurice Proulx.
